Fillmore County - MAPP for a Healthy Future
The Fillmore County MAPP Team has developed strategies to address the following Top 5 community health problems in Fillmore County:
- Sedentary Lifestyle / Nutrition
- behavior triggers for obesity, heart disease
- Cancer
- Cost of care
- Population decline
- including issues relating to keeping workers in the county (e.g. adequate child care)
- Behavioral Health
- including alcohol/drug abuse
Water and exposure to environmental toxins were also identified and prioritized, but were deferred to the BASIS project for further action.
Individuals and organizations are now being identified and contacted to implement the strategies. An assessment report is being written to document the group's efforts and the action plan - it will be posted to this site and distributed to select members of the community as soon as it is available.
