Gage County MAPP for a Healthy Future
The Gage County MAPP Team is in the process of developing strategies to address the following Top 5 community health priorities in Gage County:
- Healthy Family Relationships
- Abuse Prevention
- Enhancing Families
- Mental Health
- Provider Shortage
- Youth and Elder Mental Health
- Obesity
- Drug and Alcohol Abuse
- Water Quality/Quantity
- Land Use Effects on Water
The team also raised poverty and elder-health as issues to be given focused attention. It is expected that the problems of Poverty and Aging Population will be treated as 'forces of change' acting on the five issues that were singled out, to ensure that their consideration and influence is included in the community health improvement plan.
The Gage County Team met for the first time on December 6th, 2007, to begin planning to address the most important community health issues.
The Team had representation from the following areas:
| Long-term care |
Health Care |
| Environmental Protection |
Local government |
| Education |
Public Health |
| Mental Health |
