Saline County - MAPP for a Healthy Future

Through a series of community discussions and interview funded by HRSA, the Saline County Team has identified the following priority community health issues:

  • Access to Health Care
    • for general public
    • for special groups (children, elders)
  • Health Education, Information, Promotion
    • provider awareness of needs, resources
    • environment that is conducive to health

Other cross-cutting issues were also identified as contributing to or complicating the resolution of these priorities:

    • Community vitality and involvement
    • Impact of changes in population
    • Challenges to economic wellbeing

The group has also proposed initial strategies to address the priority health issues, which can be found near the end of the Saline County MAPP for a Healthy Future Report.

The Saline County health assessment project started in the fall of 2007 with a series of community discussions in Crete, Wilber and Friend.
