Thayer County MAPP for a Healthy Future
The Thayer County MAPP team has developed strategies to address the following 5 priority areas:
- Drug/Alcohol Abuse
- Elder Health: food and transportation provisions
- Preventive/Wellness Care
- public not aware of
- not prioritized by residents
- not affordable, covered by insurance
- Cost of Care: chronic disease care
Population Decline was also selected as a priority issue, but set aside for planning purposes in light of its tremendous influence (i.e. force of change) over each of the other four issues on the list.
Individuals and organizations are now being identified and contacted to implement the strategies. An assessment report is being written to document the group's efforts and the action plan - it will be posted to this site and distributed to select members of the community as soon as it is available.
The Team met for the first time in December to identify the pressures affecting community health, and create a series of 'values statements' defining what a healthy community should look like for area residents. There has been representation from the following areas:

| Local Government |
