USDA's Starling Control Program in Fillmore County

The USDA will be applying a toxicant in and around Fairmont the week of 1/4/10 that is designed to help control the excessive population of Starling birds. The toxicant is highly targeted to Starling birds, and it not expected to cause death in other bird species or other pets/wildlife. Bird deaths occuring in other species categories, far outside of Fairmont, or after the end of next week are highly unlikely to be caused by this control program.
