PHS Reports Covid-19 Rates Rising Across District

7.22.2022

Public Health Solutions is reporting a steady increase in Covid-19 positivity rates across the district. For the week ending 07/22/22, positivity rates per county are as follows:
Fillmore: 50.00%
Gage: 63.64%
Jefferson: 50.00%
Saline: 72.50%
Thayer: 41.67%
“Positivity rates give us a broad picture but certainly do not tell the entire story,” states Kim Showalter, PHS Health Director. “We are getting reports of mild increases in covid patients in our district hospitals but nothing of alarm at this point. With school about to begin, we want everyone to be aware that covid is still circulating and it is wise to take preventative measures, especially staying home if you feel ill, and getting a covid test. We want our students to be back in class and enjoying activities this year”.
Free at-home Covid tests are available throughout the district. Lists of locations for at-home test kit pick-up can be obtained by calling the Health Department at 402-826-3880 or visiting phsneb.org for more information.
